Software Engineering Manager – Product Development

EMEA (Preferably in The Netherlands or Denmark)

Overview

We are looking to hire a Software Engineering Manager within our Product Development department. In this role, you will oversee the daily operations of our software development team, ensuring technical excellence, timely delivery, and alignment with product and business goals. This role combines people leadership with technical oversight, fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement across the engineering function.

Job Description

  • Lead and mentor software engineers, fostering a high-performance culture focused on ownership, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Oversee the end-to-end delivery of enterprise software products, ensuring alignment with business goals, timelines, and quality standards.
  • Collaborate with engineers and SMEs to evaluate new technologies and ensure platform compatibility.
  • Collaborate with Product Managers, QA Engineers, and SME’s to define technical requirements, delivery timelines, and resource planning.
  • Lead modernization efforts such as tooling upgrades, automation initiatives, and migration to new platform versions.
  • Support the adoption and evolution of DevOps practices including build automation, release pipelines, and test orchestration.
  • Support audit readiness and compliance by ensuring traceability, documentation, and structured release practices.
  • Conduct regular code reviews, architecture reviews, and technical deep-dives to maintain engineering excellence.
  • Coordinate across development, QA, and product teams to manage dependencies and remove delivery bottlenecks.
  • Develop technical expertise on OneStream software. Successful applicants will receive OneStream training necessary to excel in this role.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • A relevant bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer systems, IT & Management or Finance.
  • 7+ years of experience working within enterprise software development, with at least 2-3 years in a leadership or architectural role.
  • Demonstrated success in leading cross-functional teams through the full software development lifecycle.
  • Deep understanding of enterprise software architecture, with proven experience designing scalable, maintainable, and secure solutions.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps principles and agile delivery methodologies
  • Proficient in .NET development using Microsoft Visual Studio and/or related tools, with experience in languages such as VB.Net and C#.
  • Experience with Azure DevOps for managing source control, including branching strategies, pull requests, repository management, and code reviews.
  • Demonstrable experience working with Microsoft SQL Server Database for database management, SQL query analysis and optimization.
  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills, with the ability to quickly grasp complex technical concepts and troubleshoot software issues.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and communicate technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience with tax reporting, lease accounting, consolidation, financial reporting, asset management, sustainability reporting (ESG) and planning is desirable but not mandatory, although it is expected that relevant basic knowledge regarding these domains and others which would be relevant within AMCO would be learned and embraced as necessary to oversee quality solutions.
